Reading Gateway

The Reading Gateway scheme represents one of the largest projects we've undertaken in a few years. Not intimidated by the scale of the development we worked collaboratively with the main contractor Kier Construction (Thames Valley) and the sub-contractors to deliver the build to a high quality.

The overall scheme is a mixed use development comprising four phases; this phase includes a 120-bed Premier Inn hotel and attached Beefeater restaurant, a Costa Drive Thru Unit tucked into an under croft to the main hotel above, and a standalone Burger King Drive Thru.

Most notably the hotel is an SFS structure with integrated off-site bathroom pods on a reinforced concrete podium at first floor. We worked with the BIM model initially developed by the SFS sub-contractor Metek Plc to co-ordinate elements of the external façade, internal partitioning, services, prior to manufacture.
